Phobias make life difficult. With a phobia, it can become challenging or even impossible to participate in work, school, relationships, and enjoyable activities. Phobias also lead to avoidance behaviors, which can lead to embarrassment. It is important to recognize that having a phobia does not make you a weak or irrational person. People with phobias have good insight, which means they are aware that the fear is not reasonable or rational, but this does not make it easier to fight the fear. Although phobias are difficult to fight alone, support is out there. Therapeutic services can be an excellent way to overcome these disruptive fears and significantly improve quality of life.
