“Coping Mode” Worksheet

When you encounter a problem, or feel as though you’ve hit a roadblock, it’s time to go into coping mode. This can help when you feel overwhelmed and want to regain at least some control. This is called being resilient, having the ability to bounce back from a situation or feeling that is adversely affecting you. Going into coping mode helps you to separate the feelings of you being controlled by what’s going on, and you getting back into action. You’ll be telling yourself, “I am going into coping mode, to figure out what I need to do to help myself, and to better manage the situation, right now.”


Directions: Any time you feel you need to go into coping mode, complete the following:
