“Coping Mode” Worksheet

Is something bothering you? Have you encountered a problem? Do you feel as though you’ve hit a roadblock?

If the answer to any of these questions is “yes”, it’s time to go into coping mode!

This can help when you feel overwhelmed and want to regain at least some control. This is called being resilient, having the ability to bounce back from a situation or feeling that is adversely affecting you. Going into coping mode helps you to move away from the feelings of being controlled by what’s going on, and move towards the strategies that will help you get back in at least some types of control.

You’ll be telling yourself, “I am going into coping mode– to figure out what I need to do to help myself, and to better manage the situation, right now!”

Directions: Any time you feel you need to go into “coping mode,” complete the following:
