Spring 2026

What is Spring?

When we hear the word “spring”, the first thing that comes to mind for most people is the season of spring and what it represents. A season of new beginnings, growth and rejuvenation— a time for us to move forward.

Spring is a time when the weather is milder and flowers begin to “spring” up, showing their beautiful colors, filling our senses with all the beauty of nature.

Spring is when animals (including pets like dogs and cats) shed their thick winter fur, and we shed our heavy winter clothing to prepare for warmer weather.

The word “spring” is more than just a season. It has many different definitions. There are also many idioms using the word “spring”. What is interesting is we noticed many of these can be used to define what the season represents.

Here are just a few examples:

Definitions of the word “spring”:

Season: The season between winter and summer

Appear/Originate: To come into existence, appear suddenly or descend from a source

Elastic Device: A coiled or bent piece of metal (or other material that returns to its shape after being compressed, stretched, or squeezed

Elasticity: To act with resilience or “spring” back

Leap: A sudden jump, bound, or leap forward

Idioms:

Spring in your step: A lively way of walking

Spring a surprise: To reveal something unexpectedly

Spring cleaning: A thorough cleaning of a house

Spring for dinner: To pay for someone’s meal

We hope you will put a “spring in your step” and get out there and enjoy all that this beautiful season has to offer! And if you’d like to “spring for our dinner”, well, thank you!
