What’s New?
Winter 2025-2026
As with most things in life, no matter our age, it is how we individually perceive what we are experiencing and all that is around us.
As we age, we naturally tend to see things differently than when we were innocent children.
Many of us dread the cold winter weather, shoveling snow, longer days, preparing the home for the holidays; and some even dread the kids home from school for winter break.
But for children, winter is not an inconvenience. It’s a time for imagination, magical moments, and pure joy!
Not only are children in awe of a beautiful snowfall, but the excitement that school might be closed gives them hope for a fun snow day.
Their imagination soars, as thoughts of building a snowman, or a fort, making snow angels, having a snowball fight, or soaring down a hill on a sled. After all that, going back in the house to get warm with a cup of hot cocoa (with marshmallows, of course!) and cookies to warm them up before they go back out for more fun. This is a day of pure fun and adventure for a child.
Winter is also an exciting season filled with some of the biggest holidays of the year, including Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanza, and the beginning of a New Year for all. Also, the exciting anticipation of getting together with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, sharing warm, comforting holiday meals. It’s a time for children to focus on the meaning of the most important holidays of the year and their own family’s traditions.
It’s an exciting time for them to not only think about what gifts they would like for themselves for the holidays, but the excitement of making macaroni necklaces or frames, etc., for mom and dad, teaching them the importance of love, giving, generosity, and gratitude to not only receive, but to give.
So, if you want to enjoy all the wonders of winter and feel the enthusiasm of a child, just look through the eyes of the child inside you and give yourself up to the magic of winter and all it has to offer.
Be a kid again!
Wishing you a happy, healthy, joyful winter filled with the enthusiasm of a child!

Coping Quote Corner
This section of E-Cope is dedicated to all the famous, or not-so-famous people who have been quoted throughout history and in present times, giving us little tidbits of life that move us, inspire us, and make us ponder about ourselves, our lives, our relationships, or life in general.
Sometimes, it’s just one little sentence that can make us stop and think and give us the wisdom to find ways to cope with whatever life throws our way. Whether these words are serious or humorous, they withstand the test of time.
We hope you will find just the right quote to help you cope with whatever you are going through on your journey.
The quotes below are specific to winter, and we hope you will find just the right one to help you weather the winter season and warm your heart and soul with all the beauty nature has to offer for each and every season.
